Posting photos of your drunken nights, or illegible rants about your least favorite presidential candidate, could scare away hiring managers.

Social Networking:

Not sure if there is any other way to describe "social networking", just as the name suggests; it's all about social interaction. One can say for sure that 'social networking' is one of the key components of new media, it helps to bring people from all demographics together...a new media "COMMUNITY". The idea of social networking' is to allow individuals to socialize and interact with other people online via internet, depending on what you want to share; your pairs, friends, even your colleagues can be updated about what you do during your off hours and leisure time. Having said this, even as there's no limit to innovations, corporations are also taking good advantage of social networking; in other words, with ideas of 'e-commerce', corporations are using 'social networking' as a platform to develop a good and solid customer relations, and branding (marketing/adverts). Also,corporations use social media like linkedln to scout for professionals and recruit in relative feeds; according to the article "Social Networking Technology Boosts Job Recruiting" by Frank Langfitt. Also thinking out of the box, firms can indirectly or directly track what their employees are doing during off hours on social websites like Facebook, twitter etc. just to make sure they carry along with them the good reputation of the company....not sure if this is legally right! A perfect example would be a video of a drunk doctor that went viral who attacked an Uber driver. Thanks to an onlooker who caught the incident, record and post on social media; within split seconds, it went viral and she was placed under administrative leave with immediate effect. As a matter of fact, people who are seeking for more opportunities may want to be careful of what they post on social media because most companies pull records from there before interview. As new media community, society as a whole, we can benefit from 'social networking' because it connects people, information also spread quickly. People can collectively speak against, discuss about politics, know about latest trend (good), and get to know other people within and outside their culture/race/religion.

Teen Social Networking
Without any doubt, there will always be dark side of social networking. Issues like privacy, infringement of rights, indecency, fraudulence, plot, nudity, underage, infidelity, deceits etc. will continue to rock social media as whole. According to the article "Who Cares About Facebook Privacy? Student Do"  by Marc Parry, two researchers reports that "most Facebook users modified their privacy settings at least once in 2009 and that engagement with privacy settings increased significantly between 2009 and 2010". In my own opinion, my most concern about how social media will evolve in future is how today's generation would be able to handle it. Rather than learning and understanding basic principles of life, all they prefer is chatting, texting or twitting...
